As a Biorepository Coordinator, you will contribute to in advancing scientific research within the Clinical Sequencing Division. You will use your oncology specimen handling, management, and testing expertise. Your work will contribute to the future of health by helping customers find cures for cancer to treat millions of patients globally.



A Day in the Life:



  • Lead physical sample inventory, ensuring accurate handling and appropriate storage of biospecimens such as FFPE blocks, slides, curls, and plasma, in a BSL2 environment.

  • Use inventory management software applications for sample traceability.

  • Liaise with internal and external customers for sample procurement requests.

  • Conduct DNA/RNA extraction, NGS library preparation, and sequencing.

  • Review biospecimen screening results.


Keys to Success:



  • Follow standard methodologies for sample handling and laboratory procedures.

  • Accurately follow protocols and recognize deviations.

  • Collaborate efficiently to achieve pre-defined goals.

  • Prepare regular reports detailing sample procurement requests.


Education:



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biological Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.


Experience:



  • At least 2 years of laboratory experience in academic or industry settings.

  • Experience working in regulated environments.

  • Industrial experience in sample management.

  • Prior histology experience such as microtomy and H&E staining preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:



  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.

  • Emphasis on attention to details.

  • Strong theoretical understanding and hands-on laboratory skills.

  • Excellent documentation, writing, and presentation skills.

  • Must have nucleic acid isolation, PCR, and RT-PCR skills.

  • Must have next-generation technologies such as library prep and sequencing.


Physical Requirements / Work Environment:



This role requires working in a laboratory environment, handling biological samples, and operating various lab equipment. Strict adherence to safety protocols is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $72,600.00-$96,800.00.
