General Summary: Middlesex Community College seeks to fill a part-time Dental Hygiene clinical faculty position on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for the Spring 2025 semester. The College's part-time Dental Hygiene Faculty are knowledgeable and creative professionals who have a demonstrated commitment to working with the College's diverse students and community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide clinical instruction for a group of up to 5 students in a clinic session. Clinical instruction involves providing mentorship, supervision, and instruction to students as they provide their patients with comprehensive dental hygiene treatment during clinical sessions.
Provide ongoing interactive formative feedback and summative evaluation of student progress during each clinical experience.
Document feedback and evaluation o students comprehensively and in a timely manner to ensure student are constantly appraised of their progress and need for development.
Maintain currency in dental hygiene, clinical teaching and educational methodology, and dental hygiene education through participation in continuing education and professional development.
Utilize assessment data to improve teaching performance as evidenced by the evaluation process.
Demonstrate professional knowledge, skills, attitudes, and standards of conduct at the college, classroom and clinic setting with patients, students and colleagues.
Implement all dental hygiene program policies as well as applicable college policies and demonstrates ethical and professional behavior.
Job Requirements:
Registered Dental Hygienist in Massachusetts
Massachusetts Permit L
Bachelor's Degree in a related filed and 3 years' experience working in clinical dental hygiene within the last 5 years required.
Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, veterans, and individuals with different academic preparation levels and varying physical and learning abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree and/or previous teaching experience in a dental hygiene program preferred.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: DCE Faculty are paid in accordance with the DCE step level provided in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Location: Lowell campus with occasional travel to Bedford as needed
