Responsibilities




  • Provide technical experience needed to assist in studying the basic principles of plant and animal life by planning and administering biological research programs functional responsibility.

  • Assist with performing basic laboratory experiments and procedures by analyzing experimental data and interpret results to write reports and summaries of findings; analyze the role of mRNA degradation in T-cell biology description, and perform RNA and DNA extraction experiments on Cryptococcus and mammalian cells.

  • Perform basic molecular biology techniques on Cryptococcus and mammalian cells such as plasmid transformation and mutant generation functional responsibility.

  • Prepare, organize and maintain various lab samples, supplies, and equipment by operating, calibrating, or maintaining equipment used in quantitative or qualitative analysis, such as spectrophotometers, calorimeters, flame photometers, or computer-controlled analyzers. Operate laboratory equipment to analyze samples and analyze laboratory findings.

  • Prepare and write Scientific Manuscripts and presents relevant findings to the Federal Task Leader and other collaborators as needed.

  • Organize manuscripts: introduction, methods, results and discussion with figures sufficient to publish in leading publications; prepare and compile data into reports, PowerPoint and poster formats as needed.

  • Learn new laboratory techniques and procedures by interpreting research or operational data.




Qualifications




  • BS and at least 4 years of experience in Biomedical Sciences.

  • Demonstrated experience working in the research laboratory environment.

  • Computer skills to include MS Office Suite.

  • Experience performing RNA and DNA extraction preferably on Cryptococcus and mammalian cells.

  • Experience analyzing mRNA.

  • Experience preparing and writing scientific manuscripts.

  • Experience presenting findings in different formats (i.e., manuscripts, PowerPoint, poster).
