The Manufacturing Intern is responsible for data collection, analysis, organization, and recommendation for production or process improvements. This person works directly with lean project leaders, as well as production operators and support departments to assist with computer and floor support of lean project teams while complying with all safety, environmental, & food safety requirements.
Essential Job Functions
General understanding of the manufacturing process.
General understanding of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
Supports project team with data collection and project preparation.
Reviews weekly data for trends both positive and negative for future projects.
Participates in Team environment offering input and suggestions to improve the overall performance of the department and company.
Strives to maintain goals and objectives as developed by the company or manager.
General duties and tasks to support manufacturing as assigned by Manufacturing Management.
Important Other Skills/Abilities
Strong Communication skills, written & verbal.
Works well in a team environment or independently.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office knowledge.
Self-motivated; works well with minimal supervision.
H.S. diploma or equivalent.
Eligible to work in the United States.
Physical Demand Characteristics:
Light – Lifts 10 lbs. or less frequently.
Lifts 25 lbs. occasionally.
Walks and/or stands most of the day.
Bends and stoops frequently.
Reaches overhead and stoops frequently.
May push/pull.
