Location: Altavista, VA
Salary: $140,000.00 USD Annually - $160,000.00 USD Annually
Description:
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate production efforts for long-term process improvements, including environmental and safety compliance.
- Promote team development, effective communication, and employee skill growth.
- Establish and clarify roles and expectations for direct reports, providing necessary coaching and feedback.
- Drive cultural change to encourage employee ownership of facility operations (team size: 10-15 members).
- Support flexible shift schedules, including rotating day/night/weekend/holiday shifts.
- Work in various environments like confined spaces, high locations, and extreme temperatures.
- Wear appropriate PPE and adhere to safety protocols.
Basic Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience in industrial, manufacturing, or military settings with a solid understanding of production, HR, EHS, and quality operations.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel for document creation, report preparation, and data analysis.
- Proven experience in coaching, counseling, and developing employees.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience with OSB or wood products.
- Familiarity with advanced reliability skills such as thermography, vibration analysis, and lubrication.
- At least three years of supervisory experience in industrial manufacturing.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, wood science, or a related field.
