Job Summary

The Marketing Communications Manager assists with development of external and internal communications strategy and is responsible for successfully planning, implementing and managing communication projects and ongoing programs. The Communications Manager will lead a team of Public Relations and
Marketing/Communications professionals while ensuring that their work contributes to overall department objectives and is in alignment with overall corporate strategy and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support communications strategies and objectives.
2. Develops marketing communications plans for internal and external stakeholders, including strategy, goals, tactics and measurement.
3. Ensures that internal and external marketing communications strategy aligns with overall business strategy/goals and supports/strengthens the company's brand.
4. Monitors industry news and conversation to stays up-to-date on trends and relevant issues.
5. Oversees development, execution and results of public relations campaigns, media relations, digital communication strategy including social media, internal communications and other marketing initiatives.
6. Provides team leadership to direct and coordinate work of assigned staff including setting goals, conducting performance reviews and managing department priorities.
7. Serves as a backup spokesperson at local news events within the local communities in which Sundt operates.
8. Writes, reviews and edits written materials such as marketing collateral and employee communications.

Minimum Job Requirements

1. 6-10 years of in-house experience in Public Relations and/or Communications roles at mid-sized companies or enterprises.
2. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple deadlines, delivering quality results.
3. BA/BS in Communications, Public Relations or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
4. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
5. Media relations expertise and proven ability to develop relationships with reporters and editors.
6. Open to travel: 10-20% travel required.
7. Proactive, independent worker who excels in a team environment.
8. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
9. Significant experience with social media platforms on behalf of mid-sized businesses or enterprises.
10. Strong writing, editing, proofreading skills.

6. Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
7. Will use telephone, computer system, email, and other electronic devices on a frequent basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
