What You'll Contribute to OHM Advisors.

As a Senior Municipal Engineer at OHM Advisors, you will lead and support a variety of municipal infrastructure projects that meet and exceed client expectations, advancing the state of municipal engineering practice. You will work independently to deliver high-quality engineering solutions while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams to provide exceptional services for a wide range of clients. You will draw from your experience with municipal projects, including infrastructure design, roadway rehabilitation/reconstruction, site/civil design, and pedestrian/bicycle facilities. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of State, Local, and Federal funding programs, along with proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and the ability to guide other staff in using these tools.


OHM Advisors is seeking an experienced Senior Municipal Engineer to join our team and play a key role in our Pittsburgh office. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, practical problem-solving, and strong leadership skills to deliver exceptional infrastructure solutions for our clients and communities throughout the Southwestern Pennsylvania region.


Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage municipal engineering projects of various scales and complexities, ensuring alignment with client goals and community needs
  • Mentor and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and technical excellence
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and providing trusted advisory services
  • Develop and maintain project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery of high-quality infrastructure solutions
  • Lead the preparation of construction documents, cost estimates, and perform thorough project QA/QC
  • Stay at the forefront of municipal engineering trends, integrating the latest approaches and technologies into our practice
  • Lead stakeholder meetings, public presentations, and project discussions both in-person and virtually
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal writing, networking, and cultivating new opportunities in the Pittsburgh region and beyond
  • Participate in professional organizations and contribute to thought leadership within the industry
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the strategic direction of the engineering practice and support overall firm growth



Requirements:


Education, Experience & Licensure:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License.
  • Strong understanding of City, State, and Federal funding programs, as well as relevant design standards and specifications.
    Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D
    • Experience with municipal infrastructure design, site/civil design, roadway projects, and pedestrian/bicycle facilities
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams
    • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
    • Experience mentoring entry-level engineers and interns
    • Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Willingness to travel to other offices or project sites as needed
