This job posting is for 2nd shift, initially working a schedule of Monday through Friday and some Saturdays, and then a rotational schedule of 4 days on, 3 days off one week, and 3 days on, 4 days off the following week when the plant moves to a 7-day operation. Work hours are generally 1:40 p.m. to approximately 11:00 p.m./midnight. The base rate of pay is $19.25/hour, plus a shift premium of $1.00/hour. Team members must be willing to work overtime and weekends, as needed. This position is eligible for overtime pay.

Job Responsibilities:




  • Inspects, washes, and sanitizes vats






  • Inspects vats prior to exiting the vat wash area for required cleanliness






  • Ensures the foamer is properly working and charged with selected chemical






  • Inspects vats prior to exiting the vat wash area for cracks and flaws






  • Trains for and performs other jobs, as needed






  • All team members are responsible for safety, including but not limited to personal safety and food safety






  • Complies with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reports known or suspected violations






  • Attends monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT)






  • Performs other duties as assigned





Job Requirements:




  • Experience in food manufacturing preferred, but not required






  • Basic computer skills to navigate systems and perform data entry






  • Ability to record information using company-provided forms and procedures






  • Experience with inventory control methods preferred






  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness






  • Ability to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively with all team members and management






  • Ability to accurately perform math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division






  • Must be willing to work other jobs to meet staffing needs, as needed






  • Ability to identify, act with a sense of urgency, and resolve problems/inconsistencies, getting help from management or others, as needed






  • Ability to report to work as scheduled and work scheduled hours to meet job expectations, have flexibility to work other jobs, as needed, and work weekends and overtime, as needed






  • Requires standing (8-10 hours/day), walking, bending, stooping, twisting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching above, across, and below, and at shoulder level






  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 lbs. below waist, at waist level, and above shoulder level






  • Ability to climb up and down stairs/ladders to get to/from work areas and to work at elevated levels and various heights and in confined spaces, as needed






  • Ability to work in an environment where extreme temperatures range seasonally from hot/warm to cold/freezing, where conditions may be damp and/or wet, and concrete floors may be slippery in some areas






  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, flex/grip with wrists/hands, and use tools (e.g., box knife, metal scraper)






  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves
