Job Description Summary

Responsible for software development tasks to facilitate the automated management of Penn's network infrastructure. Develops customizations and integrations to support the development of a network source-of-truth system. Performs data cleanup activities on network assets and configuration. Evaluates packaged Django apps for inclusion in the network source-of-truth system deployment. Documents network operational workflows. Works closely with IT architects and network operations staff to build templates from existing network configurations.




Job Description





Responsibilities:



  • Developing and maintaining Nautobot plugins for the Source of Truth project.


  • Data scrubbing for Source of Truth project (cleaning data imported from other sources, reconciling mismatches between different sources).


  • Evaluating new Nautobot plugins for use.


  • Documenting network operations workflows.


  • Working with network operations staff to develop Jinja2 templates for network devices.


  • Testing, validating, and documenting Source of Truth user and group settings.


  • Perform additional duties as assigned







Qualifications:



  • College level writing skills.


  • Able to quickly grasp instructions for unfamiliar tasks that involve network data management systems.


  • Sufficient experience with Python or a comparable programming language to take on responsibility for small to medium sized Python development projects (2-10 weeks).


  • Well-defined code maintenance and automation projects.


  • Ability to engage actively and professionally in one-on-one and group settings; and carry out assignments with light, regular supervision.


  • Experience with Django, Nautobot, Jenkins, and AWS preferred.
