Adjunct Lecturer of Religious Studies

The mission of the Religious Studies Department is to foster teaching, research, and public service as an integral part of education linked through programs designed to preserve, transmit, and expand knowledge. We consider religion to be a complex, abiding, and central feature of all human societies and believe that if one is to understand a society, it is vital to study its religious writings, practices and beliefs.

The Religious Studies Department at William & Mary is recruiting a pool of persons for possible part-time adjunct teaching positions. For this academic year, the Religious Studies Department is recruiting for positions in Religion in North America, however, this pool will remain open for additional needs that arise. This pool will be accessed ONLY when an opening arises. Your credentials will remain active as long as the pool position is available but no more than one year. After one year, if you are still interested, you must reapply to the current adjunct pool.Applicants must apply online at https://jobs.wm.edu. Submit a curriculum vitae and a cover letter. A Master's degree in Religious Studies or a closely related field is required.

A PhD or ABD with specialization in an area of need is preferred at the time the candidate begins the appointment, August 10 for fall, January 10 for spring, and May 10 for summer start date. Previous academic teaching experience is desirable.
