Background Information

EdEthics is led by Meira Levinson, Juliana W. and William Foss Thompson Professor of Education and Society at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. EdEthics supports educators and policymakers to ask important questions about the nature of their work, develops new language to talk about educational ethics, and provides frameworks for developing a philosophically rigorous, pragmatically useful theory of educational justice. EdEthics works with K-12 practitioners and school districts, higher education, policymakers, and scholars in a range of initiatives, professional learning partnerships, and networks. EdEthics also develops and publishes normative case studies, academic research, digital resources, and other resources in various mediums. Current projects include practitioner partnerships, professional development, Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery, a variety of publications, course offerings, conference presentations, and field-building initiatives, among others. Professional Learning Curriculum Specialist

EdEthics is looking to hire a Professional Learning Curriculum Specialist for a hybrid position to support the development and delivery of professional learning for P-12 educators and educational leaders, both in person and online. The Professional Learning Curriculum Specialist will report primarily to the Director of Curriculum and Pedagogy and periodically to Professor Meira Levinson.

Position Description

The Professional Learning Curriculum Specialist will work with the EdEthics leadership team by supporting in these, and similar, activities (in-person and remotely):

  • Design both standalone and ongoing in-person professional learning for educators and educational leaders
  • Deliver in-person professional learning for educators and education leaders in New England
  • Design both synchronous and asynchronous virtual professional learning for educators and educational leaders
  • Deliver virtual professional learning for educators and education leaders
  • Create resources to support educators in thinking through challenging ethical dilemmas in education
  • Create resources to support educators in holding complex conversations across lines of difference
  • Participate in regular meetings with EdEthics team and with partner schools, districts, and organizations
  • Support EdEthics team of facilitators in delivering high-quality professional learning for educators
  • Integrate evaluation methods and feedback review for improving teaching and learning
  • Engage in continued professional development on existing resources, new pedagogies, and other foundational knowledge.


This is a one year term position with possibility of renewal based on department needs and funding.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of experience in P-12 classroom teaching and 2 years of experience in professional development for educators (i.e., as an instructional coach, curriculum coordinator, department chair, independent or non-profit provider, etc.).
