Summary

InterDigital is currently looking for an enthusiastic, performance-driven and results-oriented high achiever who will report directly to the VP, Licensing Multimedia and be a member of a respected and high-performing global Licensing Team including licensing executives and attorneys, all with significant licensing experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading customer engagements in InterDigital's Video Services licensing program, this will include, but is not limited to the following:



  • Customer engagement - engaging with customers and developing and executing on account and negotiation strategies, including also sophisticated world-wide enforcement strategies and campaigns (in collaboration with InterDigital's world-class litigation experts) enabling closure of global licensing deals based on SEP and implementation assets in video services space.


  • Leadership & Influence - support and help shape the vision on the business opportunity for video services licensing. Drive work and provide guidance and assistance to other team members in the preparation of client presentations, financial modelling and overall execution on the opportunity, contributing to the overall Licensing revenue goal.


  • Relationships based on trust - engaging in dialogue with senior management, other stakeholders and developing trust-based relationships with clients worldwide.


  • Execution -achieving strategic and financial objectives, with a particular focus on driving licensing discussions and negotiations to a conclusion according to mutually agreed strategies.

In addition, for the purposes of achieving InterDigital's business goals, the role involves a diverse set of tasks and responsibilities, including working with a diverse team to develop technical presentations, management presentations, and working on enforcement strategies and enforcement campaigns.

The ideal candidate will be able to combine excellent verbal and written communication skills with an understanding of the Video industry and literacy on both SEP and non-SEP licensing. This person should have excellent project management and interpersonal skills and be a true team player.

Responsibilities


  • Develop, own and execute upon detailed engagement plans

  • For existing engagements, own the relationship and for new engagements develop strong new relationships

  • Lead patent license negotiations to close high value IP transactions, which will require:


  • Developing licensing strategies that will enhance the video licensing program

  • Own financial models and lead presentations

  • Develop strategies, tactics and priorities to protect, assert and enforce intellectual property rights and to develop, maintain and enhance royalty revenues and other benefits accruing from enforcement activities.

  • Manage cross functional teams and build relationships with key internal stakeholders,

  • Participate in the identification of patents to be asserted, potential infringers and appropriate approach and priority of action

  • Execute other general licensing and intellectual property matters and special projects from time to time

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications


  • 10 -15 years of experience, including experience related to patent licensing in both implementation asset and SEP/FRAND space.

  • Proven track record in closing deals and engaging successfully with customers.

  • Exceptional academic credentials - A business, technical or legal degree is preferred.

  • Excellent skills in project management and excellent communication skills.

  • Fluent or highly proficient in English language skills are required.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of intellectual property law.

  • Prior experience working in the video industry is preferred.

  • Good business judgment, ability to think strategically and solution mindset is required.

  • A reputation for ethical conduct and a commitment to ethical behavior.

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, must work well in fast-paced, highly collaborative, team environment.

  • Frequent travel required.

Location:

This role is preferably based out of one of InterDigital's US locations but open to an InterDigital Europe location or remote for the right candidate.

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range specific to New York/CA is $200,000 - $250,000 /annually + discretionary incentive bonus, benefits and may include other forms of compensation components such as long-term incentives. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
