Job Description

Hoefer Welker is seeking a qualified Senior Medical Equipment Planner with 5-10+ years’ experience. Candidate is a senior role and responsible for delivering medical equipment related consulting services for healthcare construction projects. The Senior Medical Equipment Planner is expected to have in-depth knowledge of clinical equipment, clinical technologies and understand the clinical functions of rooms and procedures within hospital environments. The Senior Medical Equipment Planner is expected to be client-facing and responsible for managing multiple projects and medical equipment planning teams to deliver medical equipment services and effectively communicate information with hospital clinical teams, architectural and engineering design teams.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of medical equipment budgeting, planning and industry recognized deliverables including timing of deliverables, construction administration for equipment, procurement and install coordination.
  • Manage multiple projects and medical equipment planning and support teams.
  • Manage project resources and project profitability.
  • Participate in business development activities to include client presentations, attend industry tradeshows or generate on-going business through working relationships with clients or architects throughout the industry.
  • Work interactively with architectural and engineering teams to communicate and coordinate medical equipment technical information and coordination of equipment drawings.
  • Develop and organize medical equipment database and specifications in equipment planning software database and software tools (EquipWare, SmartSheet, MS Excel).
  • Conduct and attend equipment planning meetings (virtual or in-person) with clinical teams or architectural/engineering design teams to discuss, evaluate and coordinate medical equipment decisions for projects.
  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day equipment planning activities and deliverables with a support team.
  • Maintain client relationship and proactive customer service.
  • Interact with medical equipment manufacturers regarding specifications, vendor drawings, pricing or installation related topics.
  • Ability to travel (25 – 50%), as required by project.

Job Requiremetns

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
  • 5-10+ years medical equipment planning experience or related field.

Certifications/Registrations:

  • PMP certification a plus

Qualifications:

Candidate must possess detail driven habits, ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment. Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere and be deadline oriented.

  • Effective professional communication skills with both internal team members and external clients, consultants, and vendors to the organization; good spelling & grammar skills, multi-task orientated.
  • Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), SmartSheet, BlueBeam Studio, EquipWare (or equivalent equipment planning database application).
  • Ability to read and translate architectural drawings into medical equipment placement drawings. Working knowledge of AutoDesk REVIT a plus.
  • Ability to independently develop medical equipment database in EquipWare (or experience with related equipment planning software) from architectural space planning narratives or drawings.
  • Ability to present ideas to clients, which include clinicians, hospital administration and executives and medical equipment vendors.
  • Handle confidential and proprietary information.
  • Ability to identify challenges and demonstrate independent judgment in decision making.
