Structured Finance - Credit Analyst, Associate Director - Global Cross Sector

Fitch Ratings Global Cross Sector Structured Finance Group is looking for a new credit analyst to join our growing team .

This role will be global, but preferred location is Chicago or New York. This person will assume a role in assigning new and monitoring existing ratings of structured finance transactions across a variety of new and developing sectors (including but not limited to: digital infrastructure including wireless towers and data centers, whole business and other future flows, solar, transportation assets including aviation, container, and rail, trade finance, various royalty streams and any new asset sector identified), authoring market commentary and related research, and providing support to develop new criteria within the group.

The Global Cross Sector SF Group was created a few years ago and its mandate is to focus on new SF asset classes which transcend across various SF sectors as well as other Fitch Rating Groups including corporates, financial institutions, sovereigns, and GIG. The group focuses on actively increasing Fitch's rating participation within this segment by creating new criteria, elevating its voice through research, and proactively engaging with various market participants including investors, bankers, and issuers .

We'll Count on You To:


  • Providing analytical support for monitoring ratings within the existing rating portfolio as well as playing the role as a backup analyst or lead analyst for new rating assignments.

  • Analyzing critical credit, legal and structural elements of new and complex Structured Finance transaction structures.

  • Producing quality internal and external written reports including credit committees, criteria, special reports and market commentary

  • Communicating Fitch rating methodology and criteria to issuers and investors

  • Leading and/or supporting research projects

  • Maintaining assigned rating relationships

What You Need to Have:


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or other quantitative disciplines

  • Relevant Master's degree is a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical thinking

  • Superb attention to detail and time management skills

  • Working knowledge of structured finance is beneficial

  • 3-7 years of relevant work experience

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and Word, strong communication, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills are a must.

  • The successful candidate for this position must be able to demonstrate skills that will allow for immediate support of a variety of transactions within the US and globally.

What Would Make You Stand Out:


  • Previous exposure to credit rating analysis or credit modeling a plus

  • Industry experience related to digital infrastructure, aviation, solar lending (loans and leases) or other consumer asset classes are all a plus
  • Proficiency in quantitative/financial modelling

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $135,000. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch's total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
