Duties & Responsibilities:

VIAVI has an exciting opportunity for an accomplished sales executive to join our dynamic team as the Sales Account Executive for our Core Assurance and AI Ops products.  In this strategic role, you will serve as the cornerstone of our success in selling Viavi’s broad portfolio of assurance solutions into our major wireline account – AT&T.

Viavi’s core assurance solutions help customers manage and support their critical network and services infrastructure. 5G Networks are evolving and becoming more complex, so visibility into network and service performance is more critical than ever to ensure superior subscriber experience.

This role will work closely with AT&T customers, development partners, and internal engineering and marketing teams to drive the strategy of our core assurance solutions to meet customer needs and grow market share.  This position will report to the Director of Sales – AT&T Account.

Key Responsibilities include driving the overall AMS sales effort within AT&T to meet revenue growth objectives, providing close support to our customers throughout the entire life-cycle of our products, and aligning Viavi solutions with customer’s needs to achieve business metrics and KPIs. This will be supported by providing solutions to their business challenges through complex projects that would include Software, Services, and Hardware offerings. The successful Account Manager will also have responsibility for managing interfaces between the client and Viavi business unit support teams.   We are seeking a true thought leader with the ability to identify, relate, and simply communicate a compelling message of how clients can achieve their business objectives with Viavi Solutions.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor of Science in related disciplines such as Technology, Engineering, Business.

  • Valid Drivers’ License


  • At least 10 years in the telecom core operations and solutions showing successful product development and management. AT&T Account experience is a plus.

  • Experience with core and RAN service assurance and observability solutions.

  • Strong technical background in the mobile communication industry (3G, 4G, 5G, IMS) core networks, protocols and services.

  • Deep understanding of Wireline technologies and Network Operational philosophies with ability to relate solutions to practical “use cases”.

  • Familiar with User Plane DPI analysis and KPIs for Control Plane and User Plane protocols.

  • Experience with network architectures and probing methods - both physical and virtual.

  • Experience with cloud network infrastructure such as AWS/GCP/AZURE and security requirements is important.

  • Strong grasp of cloud infrastructure/computing Technologies such as Virtual Machines, Docker, LXC & Kubernetes.

  • Ability to understand and position complex solutions to help customers solve critical business and technical problems.

  • Comfortable operating at Senior Management and executive level. Excellent presentation and customer communication skills (verbal and written) essential.

  • Well-connected in the industry with a deep understanding of the ecosystem, partners, channels and their roles in the development and delivery of new solutions. 

  • Confident, self-starter, able to negotiate product requirements effectively between the customer side and engineering.

  • Experience creating business cases and competitive analysis.

  • Team player with collaborative approach to drive complex teams (Client and Viavi stakeholders) toward mutual goals

Responsibilities include:


  • Responsible for the developing and executing sales strategies for our assurance solutions into AT&T to support Viavi business growth objectives.

  • Manage complex sales cycles and build and maintain strong customer relationships in AT&T to deliver value-added solutions.

  • Competitive Analysis - Engage in research and conversations with end users, customers, partners, and Viavi internal/business unit experts to understand market dynamics to create sustainable competitive strategy and positioning.

  • Support management to create business plans and new business ideas to grow business in the AT&T account.

  • Working closely with the customers, sales and business development to identify, define and generate solution requirements for AT&T.  Ability to communicate key value propositions of Viavi tools/solutions.

  • Collaborate with VIAVI engineering and support & service teams to help define and deliver cutting-edge solutions.

  • Willingness to travel 50-75%.
