Position Summary
The Staff Accountant performs all functions of accounting which includes general ledger maintenance, files appropriate tax returns, and maintains the integrity of the accounting system and related financial records. Reconciles accounts, participates in the annual audit process, and maintains the fixed asset property ledgers. Abides by generally accepted accounting principles and implements process improvement and customer service initiatives for various Crystal Clinic entities. Maintains a professional and positive attitude throughout the organization at all times.

Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities
Prepares and posts necessary journal entries for accruals and/or adjustments. Reviews General Ledger activity for accuracy in divisional and departmental expense accounts.

Prepares month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities while maintaining open communications during the closings. Prepares with daily bank balance and cash reports. Ensures accuracy and completeness of payroll, accounts payable, inventory, and other systems interfacing into the general ledger. Creates monthly inter-company invoices and other vendor invoices with accuracy for various Crystal Clinic entities.

Reconciles bank accounts for various Crystal Clinic entities. Reconciles and analyzes balance sheet accounts, including the research of variances and preparation of adjusting entries on a monthly basis.

Prepares departmental statements monthly and assists and interacts with other departments to provide financial information such as account analysis and flow of data. Produces ad hoc reports when requested.

Prepares sales, use, and CAT tax returns for the Crystal Clinic entities and ensures accurate and timely filing of tax returns in accordance with government regulations. Proactively supports and assists with internal and external audits. Maintains leases for Crystal Clinic entities and produces monthly and/or quarterly statements.

Maintains support and records for the recording and monitoring of capital expenditures. Contributes to the preparation of the annual capital and operations budgets and forecasts. Verifies and performs quality assurance on any and all physician and executive correspondences and reports.

Contributes to ensuring continuous process improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting department processes and procedures.

All other duties not specifically assigned.

Position Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting required.

Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional experience in health care or private industry accounting system preferred.
