Join the Publix Store Systems team where you will be part of developing modern applications using responsive web and mobile technologies. You will be responsible for playing a key role interacting with enterprise teams and product management. As a technologist, you will write user stories and groom product backlog items to develop features that consider a frictionless user experience while leading the delivery of lasting contributions to our store associates.

The most suitable hire for these positions will be technical candidates with strong analytical, planning, problem solving, writing, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, technology vendors, and business unit customers. We are looking for someone with agile development and delivery experience. Additionally, the candidates would be familiar with all aspects of delivering software using agile best practices such as - test-driven development, code refactoring, continuous integration, simple code design, pair programming, and a common codebase using cloud technologies.

Responsibilities:


  • Interact with architects, engineers, subject matter experts to lead and implement enterprise systems.

  • Analyze and translate business requirements into user stories that consider system architecture, performance, and scalability for robust technology solutions.

  • Design and develop applications using agile best practices such as test-driven development, code refactoring, continuous integration, and pair-programing.

  • Research code and analyze root cause then design, code and test solutions.

  • Perform data analysis by creating and executing complex queries, interpreting results and communicate findings to technical and non-technical teams.

  • Ensure adherence to security best practices and standards for various platforms.

  • Communicate effectively with management, peers, technology vendors and business customers in writing and presentation.

  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code meets Publix standards.

  • Mentor junior software engineers in developing their skills to build scalable microservice enterprise applications.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation, averaging every 12 weeks.


  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline like Computer Science or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years of I/T experience in application design, development, and delivery in an enterprise environment

  • 7+ years of coding experience leveraging .Net framework 4.5 or higher with C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and object-oriented design.

  • 7+ years of experience in analyzing complex business problems or processes and translating business requirements into technology solutions that factor in system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability, and total cost of ownership.

  • Experience with all development activities associated with delivering solutions in an enterprise microservices environment.

  • Familiarity with mobile development and deployment of Android and Apple applications

  • Coordinating large and critical cross platform features with other Scrum teams

  • Experience working in the Pull Requests approval process with tech leads and other software engineers.

  • Working closely with Product Owner on Sprint planning, including effort estimation and design

  • Strong knowledge of architecture and design of solutions in a microservice environment to solve business problems.

  • Ability to work concurrently on multiple assignments with similar deadline.


  • 9+ years of experience in an agile scrum environment and working closely with Product Owners and Scrum Master

  • 7+ years of experience in implementing enterprise application using platform services developed in C# and .NET Core or similar technology stack.

  • Experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines in either Azure DevOps or other similar tools.

  • Data storage technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure SQL

  • Knowledge of Telerik UI controls

  • Experience using Kotlin.

  • Experience with event-based messaging platforms like Kafka or MQTT

  • Experience with Kubernetes (K3), Docker or other containerization technologies.
