Overview
Create and Manage 3D models using VDC/BIM technologies on new and existing projects for estimating, constructability reviews.
Position Description
VDC/BIM Engineers responsibilities and abilities include but are not limited to the list below.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D (Specifically surfaces, alignments, assemblies, corridors, etc.)
• Proficient with Autodesk AEC Suite.
• Understand the means and methods of construction of underground utilities, industrial/water/wastewater piping, earthwork, and concrete structures and use that knowledge to guide the development of BIM models and surface models.
• Assist in the coordination of models both internally and externally.
• Review BIM models and provide constructability and construction sequence feedback.
• Model underground utilities and MEP systems.
• Model concrete building for lift drawings, rebar shop drawings and concrete formwork.
• Perform takeoffs from the model to assist pre-construction and field teams.
• Periodically travel to project sites to coordinate with on-site project staff and maintain familiarity with project site conditions.
• Work with VDC Lead
• Assumes additional responsibilities as directed.
• Maintain working knowledge of all programs and platforms required for role. Experience with creating and maintaining object library
• Willingness to learn company design methods procedures and take directions.
Software Experience Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. o Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent combinations of technical training, and/or related experience.
o 3+ years’ experience of industry experience.
o 1+ years’ experience 3D modeling concrete structures using Revit or Tekkla structure.
o 3+ years’ experience 3D modeling utility networks, trenching and excavations in Civil 3D, Open Roads Design (or other Bentley Products), Trimble Business Center (or other Trimble Products), Revit or Agtek.
o 3+ years’ experience providing BIM coordination services on major and complex projects using coordination platforms such as Navisworks, Trimble Connect, Revizto or Autodesk Construction Cloud to collaborate on projects.
o Experience in 4D schedule using Synchro, Navisworks or CmBuilder.
o Microsoft Office and Bluebeam expertise required
o Some knowledge of additional BIM related software is a plus
o Computer Programming (Revit and AutoCAD API) experience a plus.
o Dynamo and C# language experience are a plus.
o Problem solving, troubleshooting and training capabilities.
o Dashboard and data analysis capabilities are a plus (PowerBi, Tableau, Domo, etc.).
