The Health Professions Retention and Tutoring Specialist is responsible for fostering a successful learning experience for students in the Nursing Programs along with other Allied Health fields at ASU-Beebe. This position strives to increases student success, persistence and completion in our allied health programs. Ultimately, this position reduces attrition in allied health programs while increasing graduation/completion rates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and other Allied Health Program Leadership to assess and implement strategies to increase graduation rates and reduce attrition.
Meet one on one with students on a regular basis
Coach students in test taking skills and effective preparedness strategies
Monitor at risk students for progress and opportunities to reduce attrition and develop retention strategies tailored toward nursing and allied health students.
Collect and assess retention and graduation data for accreditation and program reporting
Coordinate learning resources and conduct workshops/seminars on study strategies
Attend Allied Health Advisory Meetings to address and report on progress or areas of concern
Offer stress and time management training for allied health students
Support Clinical Faculty with coordination of student schedules
Active participation in student recruitment events and planning.
Track registration in allied health programs
Conduct Exit Interviews for Nursing and Health Profession programs
Conduct Employer and Student Surveys for Health Profession programs
Provide group tutoring sessions to nursing and allied health students
Stay current with trends and best practices in nursing and healthcare education, retention strategies, and tutoring methodology
Perform any other related duties as assigned
Required Education/Experience:
Associate's Degree in a related area such as health science, nursing, education, or psychology.
Experience General: 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training.
