We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to lead and oversee our EDI platform delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless customer implementation, setting up vendor integrations, managing document mapping processes, and delivering a robust, common EDI platform. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of EDI systems, excellent project management skills, and a customer-centric approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • EDI Platform Delivery:
    • Lead the design, development, and deployment of a scalable and reliable EDI platform.
    • Ensure the EDI platform meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Oversee system upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Customer Implementation:
    • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and technical teams to understand and fulfill customer EDI requirements.
    • Develop and execute customer implementation plans, ensuring timely and accurate EDI setup and configuration.
    • Provide technical expertise and support during the onboarding process.
  • Vendor Integration:
    • Identify and evaluate potential EDI vendors and partners.
    • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to secure cost-effective and efficient solutions.
    • Oversee the setup and integration of vendor systems with our EDI platform.
  • Document Mapping:
    • Define and implement document mapping processes for various EDI transactions (e.g., purchase orders, invoices, shipment notifications).
    • Ensure accurate and efficient data translation between different formats and systems.
    • Maintain and update document mapping specifications as needed.
  • Platform Delivery and Management:
    • Develop and implement strategies to deliver a common, standardized EDI platform.
    • Monitor platform performance and implement improvements to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
    • Ensure the platform is adaptable to future technological advancements and business needs.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of EDI specialists and developers.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
    • Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations to ensure team objectives are met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in EDI management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of EDI standards (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and protocols (e.g., AS2, FTP, SFTP).
  • Proven experience with EDI mapping tools and software.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud-based EDI solutions.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and integration
