As a CMF/Color Developer, Soft Goods supporting the CMF team, you are the catalyst in bringing YETI Color Design vision to production reality. This role owns color development and on-time delivery of all SG seasonal SKUS from concept confirmation to commercialization, upholding and elevating color excellence in both visual execution and production feasibility in accordance with YETI Brand & Quality standards.


You hold the highest standards for quality and attention to detail, have a keen eye for color, build strong relationships with other team members and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. You have demonstrated knowledge of color, materials product construction, manufacturing processes, solid comprehension of CMF design and proven ability to proactively problem solve to meet CMF intent. The ideal candidate will have at least 4+ years of experience, an eye for color, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.



Requirements



  • BA or BS Degree , Industrial Design, Product Design, Fashion Design or the equivalent in professional experience

  • 5+ years industry experience in CMF or Color Design for product/consumer goods company

  • Textile Science or Dye/Pigment Chemistry related education or experience Strong knowledge of fabric construction / finishing properties and how that can affect color

  • Ability to demonstrate a passing score on the Munsell Hue Color Test is preferred

  • Effective time management, acting with a sense of urgency

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Immaculate attention to detail and an active problem solver

  • Passion for innovative and future focused CMF applications and emerging design technologies

  • Some international travel required


Assets



  • Textile Science or Dye/Pigment Chemistry related education or experience PLM experience

  • Passion for innovative and future focused CMF applications and emerging design technologies

  • Adobe Creative Suite

  • Spectrophotometer experience using Xrite or Datacolor platform

  • Experience with Print/Pattern surface treatment




Key responsibilities:



Lab Dips (Digital Management)



  • Maintain Seasonal Color Specification Library (in partnership with Design)

  • Vendor Communications for kick off, tracking and lab dip review comments (300+ 1st submits per 6M)

  • Lab Dip Creation, Documentation, Confirmation

  • Upload CF performance data provided by T2's to raw material specification Document Dye methods in material properties

  • Spectrophotomter, Create and maintain a color reference library of physical standards

  • Provide end of season metrics on level of color requests and adoption rate Measure and track supplier performance related to return time, color match and color communication

  • Monitoring lead times for lab dips across suppliers, following up with any missing dips and anticipating delays due to staying informed regarding factory closures.




Lab Dips (Physical Management):



  • Color standard ordering, tracking, cataloguing, and dispatch to T2 suppliers

  • Daily collection of mail, organization of RM by supplier, and seasonal records

  • Timely visual review of all color submits with detailed articulation and documentation of appropriate refinement comments and final approvals (to be coordinated with Color Design Lead)

  • Conduct timely visual (light box) and digital (spectrophotometer) review of all color submits with detailed articulation and documentation of appropriate refinement comments (300-400 per ½)

  • Coordinate collaboration meetings with Food and Beverage & Gear and Equipment Color Leads on key seasonal and color alignment initiatives highlighting proposed matches and calling out key feasibility concerns




Production & BOMS (Digital Management):



  • Support Color Design & Category Merchandising with loading seasonal color SKUS to Product Line into Centric PLM

  • Support Color Design & Product Development in seasonal Color BOM and Color Visual population process, ensuring RM specifications are set up for all new raw materials in time for BOM population.

  • Assist in the proofing process that Color BOMs filled by PD match Color Visuals provided by Color Design and ensuring all RM color dips are accounted for.

  • Partner with Quality Team, Materials Development & T2 factories on setting production color specifications for new material developments.




Production & BOMS (Physical Management):



  • Conduct Physical and Digital reviews of 1st Production yardage of all require RM ensuring they meet YETI spec, responsible for final approval prior to Mass production.

  • Support Quality & Sourcing Team in troubleshooting color match issues in production

  • Support Product Development in accuracy check of physical Color Samples to Product BOM communicating approvals/refinement comments as required. Support CMF Design & PM & Product Management in management and organization of SG Color Samples

  • Coordinate yearly calibration of light booth & spectrophotometer
