What you will do


Self-Care is considered a stronghold within Kenvue and has high aspirations and expectations to expand the portfolio exponentially with both product innovation and scientific leadership in applicable need states regionally and globally, focusing on lead markets. With this expansion comes a need for new technical talent who can deliver unparalleled science, lead complex technical programs, and begin developing the knowledge and skillset to be the subject matter experts of the future. The primary responsibilities of this role will include hands-on laboratory development of new product innovations and support of extensions to our existing product portfolio. The role will focus on formulating and evaluating the robustness of new products and formulas preparing them for scale up and new product launch. In our Self-Care segment we focus on the development of over the counter (OTC) medications and supplements. This role is suited for a driven associate scientist that will play a pivotal technical role in teams that are bringing our new innovations to the market and help improve the lives of consumers every day. As a product developer, the candidate will help lead technical team members through projects at various stages of development and complexity. This role is designed for someone with a passion for laboratory experimentation and scale-up execution.


Key Responsibilities


• Advancement of novel science and technical concepts that provide value to our consumers and the business through superior efficacy, safety, and consumer experience.

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners from Marketing, Consumer Insights, Analytical, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Clinical, Medical Safety and Manufacturing to deliver on unmet consumer & Health Care Professional needs.

• Capable of expanding existing technical skills to novel formats applicable to the Self-Care market and develop a subject matter expertise in ingested and topical dosage formulations including liquid, semi-solid, solid-dose product forms.

• Apply statistical tools to design experiments. Compiles and analyzes data and presents findings to the broader team. Capable of troubleshooting and proposing solutions options to keep projects on track.

• Employs standard Good Documentation Practices (GDP) of development activities to meet internal and external requirements. Generates batch protocols, reports, and helps develop product testing specifications.



What we are looking for:


• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biophysics, or a related field.

• 0-2 years of related experience in a technical role.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Experience with laboratory techniques and equipment.

• General knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines for product development.

• Experience in conducting scientific experiments and procedures.

• Familiarity with technical writing (laboratory notebook, protocols, test methods, and standard operating procedures, data reports).
