Overview
Management of lab inventory and equipment.
Management of SOPs, IACUC protocols, and lab compliance and training records.
Perform complete assay of auditory function in both awake (middle ear muscle reflex, distortion product otoacoustic emissions) and anesthetized (envelope following response, auditory brainstem response, distortion product otoacoustic emissions) mice.
Assist with survival surgeries (implanting a headplate and/or middle ear surgery).
Dissection of cochlear tissue, immunolabeling, and confocal microscopy.
Train new laboratory personnel on techniques.
Animal husbandry.
Responsibilities
Master's Degree in relevant field AND 3 years of relevant experience OR
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field AND 5 years of relevant experience
3 year of experience with Master’s Degree
5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree
Previous experience managing a laboratory, including preparing SOPs, IACUC protocols, and handling lab compliance issues.
Experience with performing auditory assays including middle ear muscle reflex, auditory brainstem responses, distortion product otoacoustic emissions, and envelope following responses.
Experience with cochlear whole-mount dissections and immunolabeling.
