Position Overview:
The Roaster Operator role entails operating roasting equipment. The operator is responsible for ensuring efficient and safe machine operation, producing high quality product and finish product packaging, inspecting equipment and performing preventative maintenance; completing paperwork and data entry; assisting in packaging area and cross-training on other machine operation duties; coordinating production scheduling or BOM changes; keeping production area clean and orderly, and assisting in providing training or direction to other production line employees.

Responsibilities:

Safely operate Roasters.
Safely operate and trouble shoot the chaff recovery system.
Check for correct roast color.
Become LOTO certified.
Perform Thermal Cleans as needed.
Help with basic general Roaster inspections and troubleshooting of thermal events.
Communicate with grinders.
Learn basic Dynamics functions needed to manage Roast batch orders.
Learn basic Factory Talk functions needed to transport green beans and roasted beans to the correct locations.
Take and test Roast samples.
Complete paperwork and data entry for traceability and quality control
Document Roast test results in Dynamix Quality Orders
Inspect equipment.
Perform basic general machine maintenance.
Properly label and document if sending the roast to a super sack or tote
Proper use, handling and storage of super sacks and metal totes
Ensure accuracy in all required areas of work.
Perform audits on required standards within set specifications of order.
Responsible for following food safety/quality/regulatory policies and procedures, executing responsibilities as identified in standard operating procedures, and reporting food safety/quality/regulatory concerns to the Production or Quality Manager.


Qualifications:

Self-directed and personally motivated
The ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required.
Attention to detail.
Able to be adaptable and work in a fast-paced environment while focusing on meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Good team player able to work well with others and contribute to a positive work environment.
Good attendance and performance track record.
Able to effectively time manage and prioritize job functions.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
3+ years food production and/or machine operating experience
Good knowledge of and/or passion for learning about coffee manufacturing
Strong general mechanical abilities and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of food safety and food quality standards
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
High school diploma or GED required. Post-secondary education is a plus.


Hours and Pay:
Positions are available 545pm-6am on a 2-2-3 schedule at our Little Chute, Wisconsin production facility. We offer a competitive base pay rate and a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees.

Physical and Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, hear, use hands to type data, use a personal computer and telephone. This employee may occasionally have to operate business machines and lift and/move up to 50 pounds.
