As part of our dynamic team, you'll be responsible for translating core business requirements into comprehensive technical solutions. This includes working across platforms, networks, software, and cloud environments to ensure functional, performance, and reliability standards are met. You'll play a pivotal role in defining designs and providing technical enablement for application components and subsystems, driving critical design decisions for our development team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule Management: Develop and manage detailed schedules for change restrictions on platforms such as Java, Node.js, MuleSoft, Azure, ensuring minimal service disruptions and defects.
  • Change Control Leadership: Lead Change Control Board meetings to facilitate the approval process for changes, obtaining necessary authorizations and ensuring technical alignment with deployment strategies like blue-green and canary deployments.
  • Strategic Summaries: Prepare comprehensive summaries for leadership using data-driven insights from JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint to enhance decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Scope Analysis: Analyze and clarify release scope to ensure alignment with project goals and technical requirements, including understanding feature flag dependencies and change restriction periods.
  • Approval Coordination: Coordinate approval processes, leveraging technical and operational insights to validate release readiness and deployment strategies.
  • Dashboard Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering teams to design and maintain robust release metric dashboards using tools like PowerBi, ServiceNow, and other internal change control tools.
  • Data Visualization: Utilize data visualization tools to provide real-time insights into release stability and performance metrics, ensuring continuous monitoring and improvement.
  • Release Calendar Management: Work closely with release and product managers to develop and maintain accurate release calendars, incorporating automated scheduling and notification systems.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure the integrity and accessibility of release data for team reviews and audits using cloud storage solutions and version control systems.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on release scheduling, freeze periods, and performance metrics, providing technical guidance and expertise to support engineering and operational teams.
  • Process Automation: Lead the assessment and implementation of industry best practices in change management, including automated deployment strategies and CI/CD pipelines, focusing on process automation to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Change Management Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for change management, promoting awareness and understanding of deployment processes across the organization with a focus on technical excellence and reliability.


Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of change and/or release management experience with a proven track record of managing all aspects of software releases throughout their lifecycle.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the high tech, software, and/or wireless/telecom industry is highly desired.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical background with experience in software development, web technologies, release management, metrics dashboards, and customer communications (email, SMS, push notifications).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert release data into summaries that foster understanding and reduce outages.
  • Agile Development: Experience working within scaled agile development teams.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to peers, developers, and senior leaders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in tools such as Atlassian-Jira and Confluence, SharePoint, Excel, Microsoft Lists, Scaled Agile Framework, full stack web design, application design, and architecture.
  • Certifications: PMO certification and/or Project Management background.
  • Sector Experience: Experience in a retail or consumer organization is a plus.

Our Senior System Engineers earns between $116,700-$196,100 USD, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
