Job Description:

Document Control Admin – Kingsport, TN



  • A general understanding of mechanical equipment

  • Electronically updating red lined drawings following in-house completion of modifications

  • As-built drawings and when drawing errors are found. Also, PIDs, mechanical and electrical

  • Modifications made by engineering groups

  • Learn and become proficient in drawing management software

  • Cross check drawings with extensive device lists and update accordingly

  • Scanning and electronically storing maintenance manuals for equipment in the various labs

  • Scan, store, organize existing maintenance documents in system in a searchable format

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills are required

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe is required

 Summary:


The Document Control Admin is to ensure that the company’s documents are well-organized and managed while keeping them updated, accessible, and available for the long-term review. Perform a wide variety of duties involving managing, creating and updating electronic drawings and documents for the multiple departments within the same organization


Additional Functions



  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in Document Controls, preferably in construction

  • Familiar with Industrial projects involving complex mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Exceptionally strong organizational skills

  • A keen attention to detail is required and will be a critical factor in selection.

  • Ability to organize and communicate all drawings & document requirements project wide. 


 


 Minimum Qualifications



  • Capable of handling multiple projects.

  • Organization and documentation skills.

  • Collaboration and team building skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe is required 

  • Firm knowledge of construction, Maintenance project in Industrial setting

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with executive level internal & external clients

  • Organizational & detailed-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage differing needs of the business

  • Ability to multi-task working within a team structure and independently


Education and Experience:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 2-3 years of Document Control, preferably in construction 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills are required


 Requirements:



  • Arrive at work on time, as scheduled, consistently, reliably, & complete each shift

  • Follow all safety rules and standards for the company and for the site

  • Understand and follow Instructions from the direct supervisor

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions are sedentary but may require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 20 pounds; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger and motor dexterity.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers/printers/scanners/fax machines, phones, filing cabinets, etc.  Employee must have the ability to transport necessary equipment and supplies and set-up for meetings, etc.  The employee must have a current driver’s license and have the ability to travel to various locations at times for various reasons.
