Position: Sanitation Associate
Work Shift:
(8hr) Third shift (shift start time will vary between 8pm and 10pm)
Job Description:
The essential functions of a Sanitation Worker are to clean and sanitize food manufacturing equipment, facilities, and utensils, by using chemical products. This position may also be responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position could work in any department of this meat processing facility that may include, but is not limited to Processing, Packaging, Shipping and Receiving and Smokehouse.
Job tasks to include:
Clean and sanitizes food processing equipment and facilities.
Clean grounds, trash disposal, chemical dispensing, and clean around plant as necessary.
Wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
Work in temperatures of extreme hot/cold, high humidity, slippery and uneven surfaces, some above ground level elevated surfaces.
Handle chemicals as prepared by the Operational Specialist; identifies, reports, communicates areas, equipment and other related items requiring non-routine attention.
Fill all dispensers, foamers, and hairnets.
Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements
Perform all positions of rotation, if applicable
Handle raw or smoked bacon
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to communicate with others.
Ability to document information.
Have sufficient mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers & fractions.
Have sufficient knowledge of standard weights & measures to utilize appropriate equipment.
Must have sufficient physical abilities to access equipment, work on slippery, uneven surfaces, reach, grasp, grip, push, pull, lift, bend, stand, stoop, work at heights of up to approximately 30 feet.
Must possess adequate near, far, and color vision as well as depth perception.
Must be able to push/pull/lift 40 lbs. or more if required.
Must be able to stand 8-10 hours on hard floors.
