We are looking for skilled and passionate commercial HVAC / MEP professionals to join our teams!
GENERAL PURPOSE: To effectively apply Mantis methodology in the facility inspection process for Facility Management Solutions projects and to provide subcontractor oversight as needed. The primary duty will surround Quality Assurance Observation for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) related facility assets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

DUTY: HVAC Field Technician

    • Inspect and evaluate HVAC asset under the direction of a Project Manager/Project Coordinator with consistent accuracy
    • Properly capture HVAC section surveys with MANTIS tablet technology
    • Take clear photos (no silhouettes/shadows) of the building, HVAC systems, roof, defects, inventory, and perimeter
    • Take perimeter measurements
    • Take GPS data points
    • Identify HVAC assembly, inventory, and HVAC defects
    • Identify any hazardous conditions
    • Remove debris from HVAC to allow for thorough visual evaluation of the entire HVAC System
    • Re-attach any loose metal work/parts
    • Removal of any caustic materials present on HVAC system which could cause a safety hazard during the inspection
    • As needed, perform minor HVAC repairs
    • Make recommendations based upon inspection
    • Cross training on roofing, pavement, building envelope, and energy inspection required as needed.

DUTY: Safety

    • Adhere to MANTIS safety standards at all times
    • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as project requires. May include full-body harness, lanyards, ropes, anchors, hard hat, work boots, safety vest
    • Participate in identifying job hazards through the job hazard analysis (JHA) form and alternatives to said hazards
    • Participate and or lead daily safety briefing
    • Report all incidents immediately including near misses
    • Handle any/all hazardous materials as directed by safety data sheets (SDS)

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum 3-5 years of commercial Mechanical / HVAC experience
    • Technically competent with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, TEAMS, Word, etc)
    • Valid driver’s license with minimal driving offences over the last five years.
    • Ability to perform minor maintenance work including restoration mortar and re-grouting tile.
    • Physically able to climb scaffolding/ladders daily.

PREFERRED:

    • IIBEC Certification: Registered Roof Observer, Registered Roof Consultant
    • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
    • Basic Pavement Technology, Acknowledgements

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

    • Work is typically performed outdoors with exposure to all types of weather
    • Work is performed on or in the buildings of customers
    • Work is performed in a non-smoking environment
    • Ability to travel up to 80-90% (via vehicle, airplane, etc.)
    • Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as email and telephone
    • Lifting up to 75 pounds
    • Working extended hours may be required as needed

$25 - $40 an hour
