Summary of Responsibility: We are seeking a highly motivated, diligent professional to join our Accounts Payable team as our Accounts Payable Supervisor for our largest business unit (the Okuma Tower). In this role, you will play a pivotal part leading the implementation of "best in class" policies and procedures within the department. In addition to leading a small team, this role will be a "hands on" position involved in the details of the day-to-day operations.

What You Will Contribute:


  • Develop guidelines for proper handling and coding of invoices to maintain general ledger expense account and inventory records.
  • Be responsible for reports regarding cash flow; ensuring the correct payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Evaluate existing financial processes and find opportunities for streamlining and automation.
  • Implement standard processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of department workflows (including the implementation of performance metrics).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the AP and related departments.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Analyze expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
  • Verify payments before management signature is added by reviewing checks and vouchers.
  • Reconcile accounts payable total and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendors' ledger).
  • Ensure proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
  • Ensure employer identification numbers or social security numbers have been collected from all vendors for the payables clerk to prepare and submit 1099s.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
  • Coordinate audit requirements for external auditors (financial and tax related).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Confirmed experience in Accounts Payables, with a focus on process improvement.
  • Direct supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
