Position Purpose:

To provide overall Leadership and management of the manufacturing of Huggies® brand baby wipes products and drive continuous improvement toward manufacturing objectives. To lead the Operations team to world class performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.

KEY CUSTOMERS

Mill leadership, salaried team members, hourly team members, sector support teams, and consumers.
 

SCOPE

The incumbent reports to the Mill Manager and is responsible for managing the Huggies® brand baby wipes product line from the manufacturing of coform base sheet to the conversion of finished product. The incumbent has broad operations and engineering responsibilities for a high capacity, technically complex manufacturing process. This product line produces multiple codes of a single product and has several independent processes involved in the manufacture of an FDA regulated cosmetic finished product. The incumbent has 5 – 9 direct reports, with overarching responsibility for an operations team of 100+ hourly employees.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Requires knowledge and ability typically associated with a Bachelor of Science degree. The incumbent must have the ability to lead organizational change, establish and build relationships, manage conflict, problem solve, set priorities and generate new ideas to deliver business results. Must be able to demonstrate world-class leadership practices. The position requires broad knowledge and extensive experience in business management, including the successful management of a major line or functional department. Incumbent typically has a thorough understanding of staff activities and multisite and/or staff experience.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Drive commitment to the health and safety of all employees under his/her direction which promotes and supports occupational safety and industrial hygiene and to manage in a manner that seeks to eliminate injuries and illnesses. 

  • Ensure that quality is built into the way that we work by setting the highest level of expectation for the sanitary manufacture of our baby wipes product.  Lead improvements that ensure full quality compliance in an FDA regulated facility.

  • Control the operation of the Maumelle facility to achieve targeted key performance indicator results in the accountability areas of: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.

  • Continue the development and implementation of LEAN manufacturing practices including value stream (reduced cycle time), Leader standard work, TPM, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.

  • Ownership for improvements in methods of management, moving the team toward Best Practices.

  • Manage the operation so that the work environment is maintained at the highest level of safety, housekeeping, sanitation, appearance and physical condition to ensure compliance with corporate policies, government regulations and good manufacturing practices.

  • Evolve the operation in a way that facilitates the participation and involvement of all employees to pursue continuous engagement and improvement in processes and systems.

  • Provide leadership to ensure the organization attracts, develops, and retains the best talent and foster an environment which motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results.

  • Ensure the effective application of internal control systems and procedures.

  • Represent the mill as a liaison to staff tech support, centralized planning, marketing and sales to ensure the successful implementation of the wipes business strategy.

  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, team members and other key stakeholders in order to convey ideas and influence the business.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • 10 plus years of demonstrated experience.

  • Working with PC based applications (Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Evidence of continued personal and professional growth and development.

  • Role modeling Servant Leadership behaviors.

  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
     

PREFEERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 12 plus years' experience.

  • Nonwoven experience.

  • TPM

  • Lean Six Sigma

  • Trained in Team Building and Leadership Development.
