Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $53,500 - Midpoint: $66,900 (Salaried E8)



Department/Organization: 209201 - OTIDE IT



Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm



Job Summary: The Systems Administrator I supports the functionality and availability of mission critical University and non-critical systems by performing entry level systems engineering and administration under close supervision. Provides system and application administration responsibilities for multiple systems to provide desktop deployment to the campus or department.



Additional Department Summary: Manages and oversees the technical and application support for all computer-related functions in the assigned area. Oversees planning, implementing, upgrading, troubleshooting, repairing, managing technicians and students. Maintains local area networks and servers for area. Installs and upgrades applications software and hardware accessories. Coordinates purchasing of hardware and software. Initiates, coordinates, and implements technology goals for the area. Provides direct assistance to constituents in the area and serve as the trainer or training coordinator for all relevant technology for the area. Creates and manages relational databases and integration of databases with web pages.



Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of IT experience.



Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: May require intermediate or advanced level training or certification.



Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of advanced programming, networking, system, multimedia, instructional technology skills or project management methods and applications.



Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree. Experience in design. Experience in managing and maintaining server computer/technical support systems.
