Job SummaryThe Student Services Specialist in New Student Assessment serves as a primary facilitator of placement assessment administration. This role is a member of Admissions, Welcome, and Entry and will collaborate closely with key College departments including Academic Affairs, Accessibility and Testing Services, Student Central, and Enrollment Services Operations to ensure effective student enrollment matriculation.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS





Assessment & Placement Support



  • Provides a welcoming and friendly environment with high-quality customer service for all visitors, faculty, and staff.

  • Communicate with students regarding the assessments/course placement/testing processes and procedures in person, via phone, email, and virtually.

  • Utilizes professional proctoring procedures to support a secure testing environment.

  • Integrates and explains policies and procedures of all areas of enrollment services and other closely related areas to all new students.

  • Anticipates students' needs by considering all aspects of the enrollment cycle.

  • Makes appropriate referrals to faculty, advisors, counselors, program coordinators, student service areas, or other resources as needed.

  • Assists with other Enrollment and Student Service areas as needed/assigned.




Clerical



  • Completes and maintains required documentation.

  • Keeps accurate records.

  • Maintains confidentiality of student files and other sensitive subject matter. Provides requested data and information, as required.

  • Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.




Performs other duties as assigned


*Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.



Minimum Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Two (2) years of experience working in a customer service-related position.




Additional Information



  • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).




WORKING CONDITIONS



  • Typical office environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise is typical to business offices.
