The Department of Biology and Chemistry is interested in hiring an Administrative Assistant who will support the administrative team in two departments. In addition to the core duties above, this role would also support the planning, developing, and coordinating the departments' course scheduling, special events and classroom assignments. Assists in executing the course leading scheduling process and ensure appropriate classroom facilities and equipment are available to meet the instructional mission. In addition, will process "change of grade" and "incomplete" forms. Prepares the undergraduate scholarship mailing list and sends out information.



In line with the core duties, this position will also serve as the confidential Administrative Assistant to both department chairpersons. Duties involve composing and editing correspondence regarding students and faculty. Assist in development, preparation, and dissemination of information. Coordinates events, projects, meetings, and records minutes, if needed.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS




Education:


High school diploma or equivalent




Experience:


Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.




Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:


· General knowledge of office procedures and operations


· Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, reports and correspondence


· Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form


· Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships


· Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion


· Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail


· Proficiency in computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office)
