Job Description:

Grade: 20E

Days/Hours: Monday - Friday 1st Shift or Sunday-Thursday 2nd Shift (Schedules for these positions can vary)

Job Summary
This position maintains a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient fleet of vehicles to support the business. He/She oversees proper use and care of physical assets, controls costs, manages external vendor relationships, works closely with auto technicians and internal customers, and performs regular equipment and facility audits across multiple shifts and locations. This position schedules preventative maintenance inspections and reviews the results, monitors repairs, and performs vehicle audits to ensure mechanics adhere to safety, regulatory, and appearance standards. He/She analyzes equipment or vehicle system failures to determine root causes and resolve problems, plans and coordinates equipment repairs with internal and external groups (e.g., drivers, vendors, etc.), and reviews equipment failures and component replacements to identify trends and monitors key expense indices (e.g., fuel, replacement parts, tires, labor hours, equipment, etc.) to identify and implement cost-saving strategies. This position may supervise AOP (Automotive Office Professionals), Part-Time Supervisors, or Specialists.

Responsibilities:
  • Supports automotive safety and regulatory compliance by conducting facility audits and coordinating safety and regulatory training.
  • Ensures adequate inventory levels (e.g., parts, tires, etc.) to support business processes.
  • Works with other groups to prevent, identify, and resolve equipment and service problems.
  • Adheres to purchasing limits, expense approval procedures, and equipment disposal guidelines.
  • Reviews and approves automotive expenses.
  • Determines employee training needs to produce continuous development plans
  • Conducts performance evaluations and resolves individual and group performance issues.


Qualifications:
  • Ability to understand policies and procedures within business operations
  • Ability to manage equipment repair and oversee the correction of problems with tools, machinery, and other standard technical equipment
  • Ability to manage inspections, physical assets and relationships with vendors
