Description:

A. POSITION SUMMARY:

Manage assigned dealer accounts through reviewing the credit worthiness and managing the accounts receivable balances, while attempting to increase sales and reduce accounts receivable past due Customer balances. Credit Specialist will collaborate directly with internal customers, sales representatives, distribution personnel, customer service and external customers to achieve this goal.

B. PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collection calls to customers to resolve past due balances and collect cash to reduce past due A/R balances and DSO
• Follow up customer calls on promises to pay to collect cash
• Research and resolve customer discrepancies
• Review orders placed on credit hold for release
• Ensure consistent contact with the customer on promises of payment, through use of Credit Management system.
• Establish credit limits by use of financial scorecard.
• Supply information to Account Managers for pre-call planning before customer visit.
• Support sales reps on credit & collection issues.
• Support credit department with other duties and responsibilities as required.

C. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Two + years credit and collections experience.
• Customer Service and phone etiquette skills required, including comfortable talking to customers on the phone about paying their bills.
• Able to work independently, within established guidelines.
• General understanding of business acronyms and basic use of Excel, Word, and email.
• Have good administrative and follow up skills.
• Ability to read, interpret and analyze financial statements.
• Managing confidential customer and company information.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• High School Diploma, CBF accreditation preferred.
• Knowledge of JD Edwards is a plus, but not a requirement.
