.NET Developer
Job Duration: 9+ months minimum
Location: Remote


Job Summary:

The .Net Developer will work with other developers on a project to complete a rewrite of custom built VB6 desktop application to a .Net (C#) desktop application. The desktop application communicates directly to an IBM DB2 database and integrates with Word, Visio, and PDF tools to perform a wide variety of business processes. The requirements to rewrite the desktop application are gathered by reverse engineering the legacy desktop application.


Required Skills:

• Have strong experience in design and development of business applications in Microsoft.Net platform.
• Design, write and review complex stored procedures, functions and views using SQL Server
• Work with large databases and use programming techniques to optimize query performance.
• Work with business analysts to understand business and functional requirements and translate into technical design specifications.
• Follow project management and SDLC disciplines to insure structured and effective implementations.
• Develop and maintain accurate documentation for assigned projects.
• Work in a team setting where participation in peer programming and code review sessions will be required.• Intermediate / Advanced software development experience using Visual Studio .NET, ASP.NET MVC, C#.NET, VB.NET, and SQL Server technologies.
• Intermediate / Advanced experience with SQL Server development including database design, T-SQL, stored procedures, and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• Intermediate / Advanced experience with front end GUI development
• Intermediate / Advanced experience using web services / web API.
• Experience in MVC, HTML5, jQuery, JSON, JavaScript, Bootstrap
• Strong skills with unit and integration testing.
• Solid understanding of full software development lifecycle.
• Experience in the Financial Services industry, specifically working with financial and banking data and systems.
• Ability to provide estimations, risk assessments, technical documents and meet deliverables in a timely manner.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Experience with agile development methodology is a plus.
• Experience in financial industry is preferred but not required.
