Horizon Farm Credit is seeking a full-time Credit Analyst Intern for the summer of 2025 in either our Mechanicsburg, PA, Lewisburg, PA, or Winchester, VA branch location. To view locations, visit Locations | Horizon Farm Credit (horizonfc.com). May be flexible for alternative locations.

Selected candidate will participate in a 10-12 week internship. Summer Intern hours are 8:00a.m. - 4:30p.m., Monday - Friday. Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcript through the application link by October 31.



Position Overview - As a Credit Analyst Intern at Horizon Farm Credit, you will gain an understanding of credit philosophies and lending activities for agricultural producers and agribusinesses. This is a great opportunity to get in-depth experience and learn the primary responsibilities of a Credit Underwriter. You will also have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, participate in social events with other interns, and give back to the community.


Areas of Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial analysis and assist with the loan approval process
  • Networking opportunities with analysts, credit officers, and loan staff
  • Gain experience with a variety of business types and loan sizes
  • Learn resources and techniques for underwriting new and existing customers
  • Practice risk management/assessment and gain knowledge in portfolio management
  • Exposure to credit philosophies for short, intermediate and long-term financing
  • Observe new loan applications, renewals and additional loans
  • Networking opportunities with teammates, industry partners, and fellow interns
  • Exposure to a variety of roles and responsibilities, providing a holistic view of how Farm Credit supports its customers and community members

Required Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Ag Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
  • 3.0 GPA or Higher
  • Experience with Coursework in Financial Management, Financial Accounting, Portfolio Management and Analysis, Business Logistics, Auditing, Finance, Financial compliance/regulations.
  • Ability to work independently, learn new tasks, solve problems, and show strong self-motivation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytic orientation
