Your Role:
MilliporeSigma in Danvers, MA is hiring a Development Engineer. The Development Engineer's primary function is to provide custom software and hardware solutions for our internal customers in the Mobius Value Stream. The Development Engineer automates processes using macros and stand-alone applications for the purposes of reducing human labor, automating mundane tasks, speeding up laborious tasks, data collection and organization. This position will involve a variety of tasks related to custom software applications.
Responsibilities include:
Collaborating with management, departments, and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications
Designing algorithms and flowcharts to create new software programs and systems
Producing efficient and elegant code based on requirements
Testing and deploying programs and applications
Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining, and improving existing software
Compiling and assessing user feedback to improve software performance
Observing user feedback to recommend improvements to existing software products
Developing technical documentation to guide future software development projects
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other Technical field
-OR-
High School diploma and 1+ year of experience in computer programming
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in popular coding languages including Python, VBA, C#.NET and frameworks or systems such as AngularJS and Git
Database management skills using SQL
Excellent knowledge of the software development life cycle
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Knowledge of Object-Relational Mapping frameworks
Knowledge of Windows based PC systems and servers
Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team
