Job Title: Program Controls Director

Location: Any USA location (domestic travel 50%)

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Program Controls Director to join our Project and Program Management team in our Places Business Area, for a major Technology client. In this role, you will lead the project controls delivery teams for Data Center construction projects, liaising with senior internal/external stakeholders to ensure needs are met, and providing strong leadership to all project teams across the US geographic region. You will be responsible for ensuring all work and outputs are executed to meet the requirements of relevant business strategies.

Role accountabilities:


  • Single point responsibility for the delivery performance of the Arcadis' contracted work to the Clients' Project Controls Stakeholder Group.
  • Ownership and leadership of Arcadis assigned project resources to ensure team is in place to meet project requirements with the capabilities required for successful delivery
  • Ownership and leadership of quality assurance processes and ongoing capabilities improvements
  • Client Stakeholder management responsible for owning the day-to-day to relationship with key members of the client teams
  • Creation of project operating model which can be replicated at speed to match scaling demands and transition to a lump sum contract delivery model
  • Assuring quality of service delivery and enabling customer experience feedback discussions; with rapid and meaningful response/action for any deficiencies
  • Facilitating best practice and innovation implementation across the account to drive continuous improvement and position Arcadis as a thought partner
  • Line management of Arcadis region managers across the program setting clear objectives that are aligned to the program that can be cascaded to all members of the Arcadis team
  • Executive reporting, including executive internal and client stakeholders
  • Growth opportunity identification and capture in partnership with the Account Leadership team

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Development of all commercial cost models
  • Direct the integration of all functions of project management, both internally and externally
  • Direct quality requirements for program delivery
  • Direct management and control of program risk and communicate risk to internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive the planning, setup, and management of contracting processes
  • Drive performance by leading the definition and implementation of complex programs of work, managing multidisciplinary teams and working to program timescales of more than 1 year to ensure delivery standards meet client expectations
  • Develop detailed program execution strategies to support the development of high-value programs, and play a lead role in the bid process by acting as an ambassador of Arcadis and figurehead of the solution to contribute to successful outcome
  • Drive planning of information and communication processes
  • Strong team management and development
  • Lead, motivate and develop a diverse program team of senior specialists by recruiting, setting objectives and reviewing performance to ensure staff are driven and have the necessary skills to deliver the program objectives

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 15 or more years' relevant experience leading project controls functions for major programs (>$750M) under a lump sum contract model
  • Cultural understanding of agile project management and time-driven delivery
  • Preference for prior experience with Technology and Mission Critical asset delivery
  • Excellent leadership and motivation skills
  • Change management and business partnership skills
  • Experience managing internal business relationships at executive level

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start date, and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $145,000 to $217,500 year
