The Visitor Services Assistant Manager supports the visitor service team by assisting with our retail, rental and event operations, including training and scheduling student employees, part-time employees and volunteers. Some weekend and after-hours work required. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Retail: Supports facets of the SCBG Gift Shop program including stocking, pricing, marketing and inventory management. This position performs supervisory duties of retail, visitor services and event staff and volunteers. Fills in as needed at cash register.
35% - Essential - Rentals and Events: Supports facets of the SCBG Rental and Event programs including scheduling, developing strategies to increase revenues and adherence to rental policies. This position works with visitor services staff to ensure the cleanliness and functionality of indoor rental venues. Fills in as needed for events.
25% - Essential - Visitor Services: Supports and coaches all retail and event associates to deliver an outstanding experience to our retail and event clients and visitors. Provides training regarding wayfinding, upcoming events and garden history. Reviews the work of student employees and volunteers for competency and performs necessary remedial training.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
2 years experience as a manager, assistant manager or team lead in retail, visitor services, event planning or similar setting.
Licenses - Drivers License Class D normal
