Job Description

The Temporary Recruiter/Enrollment Specialist, under direction of the Regional Recruitment Coordinator, serves as a senior level recruiter-advisor within the department of recruitment and enrollment services. Coordinates the development and implementation of projects, activities, and procedures focused on recruiting students, advising newly admitted students, and contributing to increasing applicant, admitted, enrolled, and underrepresented student populations. This is a temporary benefits eligible position with Texas A&M University Central Texas with a projected end date of December 31, 2025.


This position will primarily report within the Williamson County area. Duties of this position may report to Austin Community College (Primary), Alamo Colleges District (Secondary), Early College High Schools in the surrounding areas and other locations in the Greater Austin region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  • Coordinates the development and implementation of effective projects, activities, and procedures in assigned area(s) and schools.




  • Develops working relationships with TAMUS members, community college and high school partners to enhance student services and support to satisfy student requests or needs.




  • Counsels prospective and newly admitted students, parents, departments, and external entities on advance issues within enrollment services.




  • Advises newly admitted students and aids in the registration process.




  • Applies current knowledge of TAMUS policies and procedures to address customer complaints. Communicates professionally and diplomatically. Informs students and families on the appropriate appeals procedures. Helps appropriate parties understand the outcome of appeal decisions.




  • Utilizes CRM and SIS to maintain student records and databases, audits information for accuracy.




  • Runs reports and provides statistical analysis for leadership reporting.




  • Trains and mentors lower-level advisors and associates.




  • Responds to inquiries about program, events, and seminars, and workshop offerings.




  • Maintains an advance knowledge base of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to the units within enrollment services.




  • Conducts on and off campus presentations to various audiences.




  • Develops and delivers information to internal and external stakeholders. May serve on university committees as a department representative.




  • Plans, implements, and delivers workshops, recruitment activities, or other enrollment and academic related events.




  • Completes reports on student recruitment programs/projects and enrollment of assigned students.




  • Assists in preparation and monitoring of budgets for programs and events in assigned area(s) and schools.




  • May participate in the development and implementation of special projects within enrollment services.




  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.




  • Three years of related recruitment or admissions experience.






Knowledge, Skills, Abilities




  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, database and presentation software programs. Knowledge of enrollment and academic services rules and regulations.




  • Verbal and written communication skills. Customer Service skills, interpersonal skills, and detail-oriented.




  • Ability to work individually or as a team. Ability to organize and make decisions. Ability to relate well with a diverse student population. Ability to comprehend and communicate technical information effectively and diplomatically. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.






Wage: $21.50/hr



Hours: Monday - Thursday; 8:30 am to 5pm; night and weekends as needed. Position Duration: Expected to continue until December 31, 2025



Supervision of Others: This position does not supervise employees.



Work Location:
This position may require frequent travel for meetings and/or training. This is not a remote position. The selected candidate will be required to work on campus.
