Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Director of VPSE C2L-PHL, the Associate Director is responsible for leading, developing, articulating, and implementing best practices for strategic recruitment, enrollment, service implementation, participant eligibility and service documentation, and student progression plans for participants of VPSE C2L-PHL programming (Summer Academy, Open, and Academic Year). VPSE C2L-PHL serves annually, up to 1,000 Philadelphia students and recent alumni from ages 12 - 20 years of age in partnership with the Associate Deans, faculty, and graduate student assistants from all of Penn's twelve graduate and professional schools. The Associate Director is expected to use a myriad of strategies to drive program awareness, to build, and to sustain a world-class recruitment and service delivery for eligible participants.

Job Description


Job Responsibilities




  • Lead the development, programming, management, implementation, and assessment of the VPSE C2L-PHL Program, to ensure the program contributes to the educational progress of up to one thousand program participants each summer in compliance with university and federal statutory and regulatory provisions. Identify, maintain continuous contact with, and collaborate vigorously with SDP school administrators and faculty, participant-serving organizations including the Career Connected Learning and its assigned Intermediary, Penn faculty and staff, community leaders, agencies, and administrators for the purpose of participant recruitment.




  • Hire, train, and effectively manage the performance of up to fifty part-time graduate student staff during academic year and summer programming. Lead the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, supervision, and evaluation of part-time staff in the development and delivery of innovative, hybrid, academic and college preparatory curriculum to ensure the academic growth of participants including their transition into higher and post-baccalaureate education.




  • Lead in documenting key interactions and establishing and maintaining appropriate records and data for program partners including, but not limited to the School District of Philadelphia, Career Connected Learning, and its assigned Intermediary.




  • Create and implement systems to monitor, evaluate, and improve student success and experience, facilitate current student enrollment data to support necessary functions of internal and external stakeholders, and analyze information; create, and share reports with departments for experience and program assessment, etc.




  • Responsible for creating enrollment, registration, and exit surveys for the program. Further responsibilities include creating databases of program applicant information, including demographic data and application status. Ensure the completion of electronic data entry and filing; conduct routine audits of program data; create and prepare reports capturing program data; and conduct regular assessment of program objectives.





Qualifications




  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.




  • Master's or Ph.D. preferred




  • Strong digital literacy, organization, interpersonal, communications, presentation, and information management skills.




  • Demonstrated commitment to serving and preparing underserved, diverse participants for academic success and post-secondary enrollment.




  • Experience with instructional design and virtual learning environment.




  • Strong organizational, programming, motivational, and leadership skills.




  • Strong interpersonal, written, presentation and technology skills.




  • Applicants must be authorized to work legally in the United States.




  • Proficient in MS Excel, Qualtrics, Canvas, and Google Docs.




  • Experience with data tracking and data visualization.




  • Experience organizing, maintaining, and updating data from multiple sources into a single database.




  • Strong digital, interpersonal, and written communication skills.




  • Experience developing surveys/forms (Qualtrics, SPSS Google Forms, or another platform).
