Job Profile TitleClinical Research Coordinator A

Job Description SummaryThe Clinical Research Coordinator A/B will primarily conduct upper airway testing in humans with obstructive sleep apnea. This individual will develop familiarity with testing electromyographic (EMG) studies, respiratory airflow testing, and unconventional sleep apnea technology (i.e., hypoglossal nerve stimulation). The work will be completed in a dry laboratory, sleep surgery clinic, and operating room. He/she will assist with screening and recruiting patients, coordinating study visits, maintaining study documents, and managing a database for a clinical trial of adults with obstructive sleep apnea. He/she will assist the research project manager with data acquisition and maintaining equipment inventory as needed. Meticulous documentation will be expected to comply with regulatory agencies and study sponsors.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with coordinating research, including subject enrollment, data collection and analysis, and database management


• Experience gained in a clinical environment, and working knowledge of health data systems


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly the ability to explain topics and concepts in an easy-to-understand, accessible manner both verbally and in writing


• Excellent organizational skills, including practical problem-solving abilities and detail-orientation


• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel


• Background in sleep medicine and sleep technology is a plus.


• Experience with REDCAP is a plus.

  In addition, Clinical Research Coordinator B will be responsible for technology development and troubleshooting and independently carrying out study procedures with minimal oversight.

  
  
  
  


• Prepare and process all Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions through the IRB and other regulatory groups as appropriate, including initial submissions, amendments, continuing reviews, adverse events, and serious adverse events


• Coordinate, organize, and maintain all documentation required by the sponsor or CRO (case report forms, source documentation, study and regulatory binders, and subject binders)


• Assist in the coordination of Phase I-IV clinical trials


• Participate in the conduct of study audits by sponsors, CROs, the FDA, and other entities as required.

• Clinical Research Coordinator A, Bachelor's Degree with 1-2 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required


• Clinical Research Coordinator B, Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
