ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Knot Worldwide is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Inside Sales, New Business for our US B2B Wedding Sales advertising team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Sales Leaders and Account Executives, selling into small and medium-sized local businesses within the wedding industry across the country. You will be responsible for bringing and executing a playbook centered on meeting and exceeding new business goals, accurately forecasting and committing to monthly performance, coaching and developing future leaders, and collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, and Product teams. At your core, you should value accountability, and people development, and bring a metrics-based, performance, and data-driven mindset to your work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Leadership and Team Management:

    • Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and guidance to the team of Sales Leaders and front line Sales Reps
    • Foster a high-performance culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Identify and develop future leaders within the team.

  • New Business / Business Development

    • Meet or exceed new business sales goals as defined by the annual plan/budget
    • Develop a weekly forecast to articulate current performance, and create systematic plans to accelerate or close the gap to goal.
    • Develop strategy, tactics, and sales plans to achieve revenue targets
    • Set and cascade clear goals and desired outcomes with the team
    • Identify and report on business opportunities in target markets and align resources appropriately
    • Maintain sales staff by recruiting, hiring, and training employees, while balancing required performance management expectations

  • Coaching and Development:

    • Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to the Sales Leaders, ensuring their success and growth within the organization.
    • Hold continuous performance discussions and provide real-time, candid, and constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
    • Develop and maintain a high-performing team culture, consistently provide open and honest feedback
    • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions with purpose, that drive results
    • Join team members on customer calls and meetings

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with the Operations, Sales Enablement, Marketing, and Product teams to align strategies, address customer needs, and optimize processes.
    • Provide valuable insights and feedback from the New Business team to drive product enhancements and improvements.
    • Liaise with the Senior Leadership team and complete project work as needed, including presenting at Senior Leadership meetings and/or exec meetings, as needed



SUCCESSFUL DIRECTOR, INSIDE SALES NB CANDIDATES HAVE:


  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in relevant work experience, with 3-5 years of senior Sales/Revenue leadership experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets, a plus if experience selling to small to medium-sized businesses
  • Previous experience managing and developing a team of sales leaders.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Track record of working through challenges, willing to 'get into the weeds' on pitch, process and procedures to diagnose problems and develop solutions
  • Strong background in B2B space, ideally with online marketplace and/or SaaS, online advertising/subscription products
  • Confidence in owning a line of business, making decisions and recommendations using a data-driven mindset, and leveraging change management skills
  • Open to feedback with the ability to "disagree and commit" and execute fully on a project/plan
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and professionalism
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and departments.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive decision-making.
  • Proactive and results-oriented, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service
