The Assistant Director of I/DD Services will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and overseeing programs that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) with an emphasis on community integrated employment. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a passion for enhancing the quality of life for clients through effective program development and management.

How will I contribute

Design, implement, and evaluate programs tailored for individuals with IDD, focusing on promoting independence and community integration, primarily in vocational development.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including individuals served, families, funding agencies, community organizations, and other service providers, to identify needs and develop responsive programs.
Assist the Executive Director in overseeing program operations, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, program designs, and DDS and CCL regulations as applicable.
Assist in supervising and mentoring program staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
Conduct assessments to determine individuals' needs and develop individualized program plans that support their goals.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance life skills and community engagement for program participants.
Advocate for individuals with IDD within the community locally, and at state and federal levels, and promote inclusive, responsive, and innovative practices in service delivery.
Build partnerships with local organizations and businesses to enhance program resources and opportunities for clients.
Maintain accurate records of program activities, client progress, staff progress, and generate specialized data as needed.
Prepare reports for funding agencies and internal stakeholders to demonstrate program outcomes and effectiveness.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning and success of the program.


What I bring

Highschool Diploma (or Equivalent)
Area of Study: Psychology, Social Work, or a related Human Services field
Class C Driving License
At least 5 years of experience in program development and management, particularly with I/DD populations.
Thorough understanding of Community Care Licensing: Title 22 and Department of Developmental Services: Title 17. Knowledge of emergency health and safety compliance protocols and regulations as set forth by public health authorities.
Communicate clearly and promptly in writing and speech. Follow and convey written and verbal instructions effectively. Present information in a clear, accurate, and understandable manner. Listen actively, ask clarifying questions, and respond appropriately. Produce accurate written work on time and in a usable format.
Demonstrates the physical and mental resilience necessary to work with clients who may be potentially dangerous to themselves or others, in line with the Company's Physical and Mental Fitness standards. Capable of passing health screening examinations, including physical, drug, and TB tests. Meets all state personnel licensing requirements. Willingness to work in a culturally integrated workplace and respect for diversity, including differences in race, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, political beliefs, place of origin, skin color, and other distinguishing characteristics. Commitment to providing high-quality care and support in a culturally diverse environment.
College degree preferred. Care and supervision of clients in a vocational setting, a licensed adult day program, or an adult day health care facility. Supervision of DSPs.
