Position Overview

A successful Physician Assistant must be passionate about healthcare and want to make a difference in the lives of others while acting as a mission-driven catalyst to help Livingston Community Health deliver the best quality of care and excellent service to our patients and their families.

The Physician Assistant is primarily responsible for providing medical services to patients of Livingston Community Health.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities


Delivers direct patient care for at least 40 hours during a normal workweek and documents clinical notes. Adheres to a minimum standard of 6,200 encounters annually, equivalent to 24 patients per day in an 8 hour day, 30 patients per day in a 10 hour day, 36 patient per day in a 12 hour day. Responsible for the demonstration and utilization of the highest standards of medical ethics at all times. Participates in clinical policy and procedural development. Attends all Staff and Continuous Quality Improvement Meetings. Provides Saturday coverage as needed, at least once a month. Observe all Livingston Community Health protocols and policies. Shares on-call with other clinicians. Complete all EHR tasks including medication refills within 72 hours. Other duties as assigned by the CMO.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education -

Current valid license to practice medicine in California and DEA registration. Graduation from an accredited Physicians Assistant school. Working experience in the practice of medicine as a Physician Assistant. Current BLS Certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -


Excellent knowledge of the principles, practice, and techniques in the physicians specialty. Excellent interpersonal skills. Is medically cleared for communicable diseases and has all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct patient contact. Broad knowledge base of physical, mental, and social needs of our underserved population. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments. Knowledge of common safety hazards, infection control, and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Consistently demonstrates safe and accurate technical skills. Management and leadership. Skilled in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Able to effectively prepare and maintain electronic medical records, write reports, and respond to correspondence. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to work with ethnically diverse populations. Ability to apply creative problem-solving skills to the complex issues that arise. Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, staff members, and family caregivers in a pleasant, patient, and professional manner. Well organized, dependable, flexible, and resourceful. Computer skills required
