The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
Communicates instructions to checker/loaders, contracted truck drivers, and OTR carriers
Coordinates and execute shipping schedules, and dispatch local freight shipments
Creates shipping labels for paperwork received and contacts carrier to arrange shipment
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
Confers with managers to ensure coordination of production lines and finished product
Responsible for coordination of product completion and shipments on a timely basis by logging and inventory of the shipment and keeping a running total of the shipments
Resolve outbound and incoming delivery issues with key stakeholders
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
Coordinates movements of trailers with yard spotter
Assists with waste tracking and disposal
Prepares business reports as needed
Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge

High School diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes
Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials and delivery of finished products
Ability to effectively manage the business relationship and transactions with the suppliers of raw materials or product components
Knowledge of issues and considerations for effectively managing local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work in progress and finished goods
Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials throughout the manufacturing cycle
Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility

Primarily works in an office environment with occasional time spent in a production and/or warehouse setting
