Job Summary



Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the level three Information Technology Specialist position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.


The primary responsibility of the System Administrator is to identify any problems in the system, anticipate potential issues and repair systems and software when necessary. The position is responsible for managing and troubleshooting complex IT systems and networks. They provide high-level support for hardware, software, and network issues, often acting as a point of escalation for lower-level IT staff. This position requires a strong background in IT, with several years of experience, and certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA). They play a critical role in maintaining the stability and security of an organization's IT infrastructure.

Compensation Minimum: $130,000

Compensation Maximum: $140,000

Job Requirements:



Skills / Experience Required


  • Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) eligible May be required to consent to and successfully complete a Government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph
  • 10+ years of relevant experience within the Department of Defense
  • 4+ years' experience in SAP/SCI environment and worked in this environment within the last five years
  • Maintain network and standalone servers, workstations, network access, Security Monitoring Systems and system documentation as required
  • Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure optimum performance
  • Cloud services administration
  • Prepare systems for operational use and support operational tests
  • Identify AIS vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures
  • Ensure AIS and network nodes are operated, maintained, and disposed of per security policies and practices
  • Perform Video Teleconference (VTC) System administration, scheduling, and configuration, as needed
  • Provide network direct client support
  • Provide account creations, modifications, and deletions
  • Provide direct multi-level Help Desk support and troubleshooting of all hardware and software
  • Perform hardware/software system configuration, upgrades, and modifications
  • Provide desktop and laptop configuration and support
  • Maintain network and standalone servers, workstations, network access, Security Monitoring Systems and system documentation
  • Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure best performance
  • Prepare systems for operational use and support operational tests
  • Provide desktop and laptop configuration and support

Education / Certifications


  • Master of Arts/Master of Science/Master of Engineering (MA/MS/ME) degree
  • Work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Security + or equivalent to meet DOD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technology Level II

Security Clearance



Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.



Physical Requirements



Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
