Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Additives Account Manager to join our North American Performance Specialties and Energy Resources team. This is an important and visible role within the Company that requires self-drive and results in the form of sales growth and opportunity development. This a remote position, located within the USA and will report to Ashland’s Specialty Additives Sales Director for North America.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Growing Ashland’s Specialty Additives Business in North America; Main goal is to deliver sustainable, profitable growth through protection and growth of current customers and development of new sales at prospect accounts.

  • Leading all Specialty Additives sales activities with your customer assignments

  • Writing call reports, preparing status reports for internal and external stakeholders

  • Maintaining a healthy opportunity pipeline in SF.com.

  • Collaboration with R&D teams to ensure project development and problem solving at a customer level

  • In person meetings to understand customer needs, grow current relationship and develop expanded contacts at current and new customers.

  • Working with the North American Business Development Leader to grow Ashland’s platform technologies and new products in Specialty Additives.

  • Delivering the region’s Specialty Additives NPI (new product introduction) sales targets.

  • Providing input into Ashland’s innovation process to identify new product & market opportunities.

  • The ideal candidate will be expected to travel over 50% of the time to support and achieve the position’s objectives.

To be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:


  • A BS degree in a technical field, Chemistry is preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years selling experience or technical support (w/ aptitude for sales) in Specialty Chemicals

  • Skilled in developing business relationships and gaining trust and respect from customers
