Job Description



Perform method development projects and studies in compliance with appropriate SOPs and regulatory guidelines. Analyzes samples and/or develops/validates methodologies for various compounds and components in compliance with appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory agency guidelines. All activities required of position are conducted in compliance and support of ISO/IEC 17025:2005


  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.

  • Regular attendance and punctuality.

  • Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate.

  • Organizes, conducts and evaluates analytical results and testing independently in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOP's and regulatory agency guidelines.

  • Documents work, maintains study documentation and laboratory records.

  • Independently sets-up, maintains, operates and performs routine and non-routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and software, including problem identification and resolution.

  • Provides input and participates in project meetings, plans, monitors and guides project work.

  • Performs peer review and QC review of data.

  • Performs assigned workload on a daily basis and effectively completes multiple assignments.

  • Promotes and contributes to a cohesive team environment and maintains a positive attitude. Plans individual workload in coordination with team members and may plan team workload in coordination with supervisors.

  • Maintains a clean and safe laboratory work environment.

  • Understands data generated, and history of methods.

  • Recognizes deviations from normal results and inform Study Director, Principal Investigator, and/or management of any problems and/or deviations that may affect the integrity of the data and participates in corrective action of problems.

  • Identifies problems and makes suggestions for modifications in test methods or procedures.

  • Able to adapt to new procedures or needs as directed.

  • Able to identify critical steps in an assay.

  • Initiates, drives and implements process improvement initiatives.

  • Completes all required training courses.

  • Assists in setting up and performing optimization, and validation of various analytes in a variety of matrices and may assist in method development as needed.

  • Participates in client visits as needed, assists in communicating technical information.

  • Knowledge of departmental procedures and policies.

  • Effectively plans and utilizes personnel and resources for timely completion of assigned projects.

  • Viewed as a resource across the business unit.

  • Performs complex analyses using unfamiliar or new methods, asking for scientific guidance as needed.

  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Experience as Associateanalytical chemist II and III will be considered.






Qualifications



To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.


  • Familiar with the use of standard laboratory equipment.

  • Experience with use and troubleshooting of analytical equipment is desired.

  • Ability to perform advanced computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel).

  • 2+ years of experience in analytical chemistry laboratory with extensive knowledge of Eurofins Food Chemistry Testing operations.

  • Must have worked as an Associate Analytical Chemist II.

  • Ability to learn new tasks.

  • Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and efficiently.

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (Laboratory experience may be substituted for degree)




Additional Information



  • May work with potentially hazardous substances and/or radio labeled materials.

  • Mandatory immunizations and screening as required.

  • Will be exposed to food allergens (ex. Milk, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, etc.)

  • Work requires some standing and sitting for long periods of time, including working within a laboratory hood and standing at a bench top.

  • Work requires use of PPE (personal protective equipment).

  • Overtime and weekend work as required.
